WHO: Dallas-based Johnson Products Company (JPC) is one of the nation’s most trusted names in African American hair care and has been a leading brand for more than a half-century in the African-American community under the Gentle Treatment® and Ultra Sheen® brands.

WHAT: JPC is holding a casting call for girls of color, ages 6 to 12, for product packaging and advertising campaigns. Models must have naturally kinky/curly to curly/wavy hair to  to be considered.

This casting is open to both professional and non-professionals models.  Children models must have their parent’s consent to participate in this casting call.

Note:

Child models participate in this casting call at their own expense. JPC disclaims any and all liability and makes no commitment to select models participating at the casting call.  Parents of models selected will execute on behalf of their child model a general release on forms approved by JPC that indemnifies and holds JPC harmless for reasonable use of pictures and the child model’s persona for worldwide exclusive use in the sales and marketing of ethnic hair care products for the agreed consideration.

Pioneering African American Company ’Steps Up Its Game’ By Strengthening Its Commitment to HBCU’s.

New York, NY – March 7, 2011: Johnson Products Company, Inc. (JPC) will strengthen its commitment to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and athletes by supporting the Farmer’s Insurance 2011 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Basketball Tournament taking place March 9-12 at the Special Events Center in Garland, Texas.  As the exclusive Hair Care Sponsor, JPC will debut its newest product line, Ultra Sheen® Men™ (US Men) at the tournament.  Targeted to the “Urban Gentleman” who is a trendsetting man with style and swagger, JPC plans to shine a spotlight on US Men during the games by creatively promoting its products and its “Step Up Your Game” mantra to athletes, fans, alumni and supporters.

“Johnson Products Company has a strong legacy in supporting HBCU’s and education initiatives that encourage students of color to maximize their achievements in school and in life,” explained Robert Hudson, JPC brand manager.  “Our support of SWAC this year truly falls in line with our corporate and brand objectives.  We hope to maintain a long-term partnership with the SWAC colleges and universities and we’re looking forward to having fun with the athletes and their friends and families at the tournament.”
